guterstoff is a festival for experimental music and performance. Our acts range from performative installations and concerts to interactive formats in digital space and guided, collective experiences. Our focus is on the interweaving of disciplines and the joint discovery of new work processes in artistic collaboration. Each year, we thus develop works with artists that are led by the spirit of experimental, boundary-breaking formats.
For the next edition of the festival that will take place in Cologne in autumn of 2023, we are currently looking for artists from all disciplines who would like to participate in our interdisciplinary projects.
We offer a young, professional team to work with, an artist fee and travel/lodging costs for the duration of the work and festival phases.
Please keep in mind that we are a platform for emerging artists who are interested in interdisciplinary collaboration. We do not aim to present individual artistic positions, but we are focusing on the process of collective creation across disciplines.
WHO are we looking for:
Artists of any discipline (fine arts, music, performance, drama, dance, game design ..) There is no age limit, however we do consider the festival to be a platform for emerging professional artists. We cannot invite already existing groups or collectives.
WHAT do you need to apply:
Please send us work samples of yours (max. 3 links to online material), and a short letter of motivation in which you describe your views on interdisciplinary collaboration, if and what kind of experience you have in that field and how you could imagine to work with a group of people (max. 2000 characters) via email (address below).
HOW will we work with you:
All invited artists will take part in a residency (10 days in autumn 2023), in which they will create a new work in collaboration with an interdisciplinary group of other guterstoff artists. This work will be presented at the guterstoff festival in autumn 2023 in Cologne.
DEADLINE for submissions: 5th of December 2022
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions!
